Capped Decking EHG180H22

WPC panels, also known as Wood Plastic Composite or composite wood, is an artificial material created by hot extrusion by binding natural pulverized wood fibers to a special resin made of polymers and additives. With this particular composition, panels and planks are obtained completely aesthetically similar to natural wood, but resistant as if they were plastic resins.

WPC is produced using 60% wood and 40% plastic.

Composite wood is a material that has been enjoying considerable success in recent years. It is a much-appreciated solution for external floors and walls as it allows for results with a considerable aesthetic impact and long life.

For different types of stains, you can use different cleaning methods:

Spot Stains

Many stains can be cleaned with soap and water. Areas cleaned may lighten, this will require 8-10 weeks exposure to the sun to match the remaining WPC decking.

Scratches, Nicks, Cuts, and Grooves

Scratches, nicks, cuts, and grooves can be eliminated by using a wire brush. Brush in the direction of the grain of the product. The brushed area will weather back in approximately 8-10 weeks.

Here’re a few tips to clean and care for WPC flooring:

• WPC flooring is a zero-maintenance material. In other words, you can keep it looking fabulous with an occasional vacuum and damp mop.

• Dry mop or vacuum your floor before wet cleaning in order to remove as much dust, dirt, and debris as possible. Make sure to mop the baseboards, corners, and under your furniture, as well.

• It is quite easy to deal with unexpected spills on your WPC floor. But as with any surface, any spill should be cleaned immediately, because they tend to get harder to deal with the longer they stay. Simply wipe the spills with warm water and a gentle cleanser. There is no need for hard scrubbing or harsh cleaners.

• You can use apple cider vinegar to help remove stubborn dirt and grime stains; jojoba oil or WD-40 lubricant to remove stubborn scuffs; or baking soda and water to remove food stains from tomato sauce, mustard, etc. Make sure to clean the area with water afterward.

• When moving furniture, appliances, or other heavy items across the flooring, always use plywood sheets. This is a great way to prevent scuff marks or tears on your floor. In addition, consider using vinyl coasters underneath the feet and legs of your furniture to safeguard your floor.

In final words

The WPC is an easy-to-clean material with a brush or pressure washer, checking the maximum pressure to be used and the distance of the lance on the manufacturer’s sheet. To counteract the presence of stains, it is appropriate to use specific detergents or, in the absence, non-aggressive detergents.

Furthermore, its maintenance is also simple, for which few operations are sufficient. In fact, the WPC is a material that is difficult to attack by mold but, if it does form, it will first need to be removed with a broom and then treated with a pressure washer. This type of wood can be repainted, but it is preferable to use light-colored and non-aggressive paints.
